This panel will discuss what an Art Librarian and an Art Resource Center can be in the 21st century. The first paper will look at the identity of 21st century librarians and the many hats worn, as well as discuss the applications of marketing and the modernization of traditional librarian skills in the current age. The second paper will look closely at the RISD Materials Resource Center and the challenges they have over come in creatively describing and using material collections.  The third paper will discuss the Multimedia Creation program, at the University of Calgary Libraries and Cultural Resources (LRC), which focuses on supporting students in the creation of multimedia projects from inspiration to archiving.
